Across the country, we are currently experiencing strong demand for technology and digital skills, coupled with a shortage of suitably skilled candidates. With continued investment in technology-related projects and transformation programs, we are likely to continue seeing an increase in the need for digital roles.

The US cybersecurity market has never seen more growth, as organizations are having to adapt to a post COVID-19 world, where remote working will be more widespread than ever. Across the country, an estimated 81,700 people are currently employed in cybersecurity roles, a 5% increase from last year. And these people continue to be in very high demand: there are currently over 5,600 open positions being advertised on LinkedIn, with demand especially high in New York City, San Francisco, and the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.
According to Forbes, enterprises are predicted to spend $12.6B on cloud security tools by 2023. This makes now a very exciting time for businesses in the United States, who have the opportunity to take advantage of this growth to become world leaders in this field.

Where is demand highest?
There is currently a massive shortage of cybersecurity professionals across the globe, reaching nearly 3 million –
and the United States follow this global trend.
Unsurprisingly, demand for cybersecurity professionals is especially high (and still growing) in the financial sector, which has seen a 6% increase in the number of cybersecurity jobs since last year and currently has over 2,000 open roles yet to be filled. This is also true of the IT and computer software industries, where digital security is of the utmost importance – both saw a 7% increase in cybersecurity jobs since last year.
